Goodreads Synopsis:

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

My Review:
contains slight spoilers

When I first hearf about a next Harry Potter book/ play coming, I got so excited and I counted down the days until the book would finally, FINALLY be released. Growing up with Harry, it was basically the best thing that could happen to me. And I got such high expectations. Man, was I disappointed.
It was so good to be back in the Harry Potter world, back with known characters, and getting to know new characters. Just seeing their names was awesome. And I fell in love with Scorpius Malfoy at his first sentence! He is such a cinnamon roll and his friendship with Albus is so pure and they are my new Brotp. Seriously, those two were the best thing about this book.
Apart from these two, the characters were quite film-based. I couldn’t really find that much of the book characters in them, it was more like a film- fanfiction mashup.
And don’t even get me started on the plot. I didn’t like it AT ALL. In my opinion, the plot was confusing, without any sense and just a nope. I can’t get behind it, like, it was just so weird? And I don’t know if magic has evolved or something, but some things that were impossible in other Potter books suddenly worked out well. Like polyjuice potion brewing for about an hour or time turners being used for traveling years back.
It didn’t bother me that it was a script. But I think it might be better when you really see everything acted out on stage. But I don’t think that would make the plot any better. By Dumbledore, the plot is utter garbage.
There was a Voldy-nose-joke in it though.
It really pains me, but this is the first Harry Potter book where I just can say: meh. I kind of enjoyed it anyways.
