I let Google translate the synopsis of books I’ve read this year

22/02/2019

Hoohoo, friends.

This is something I’ve recently seen on Kaleena’s blog Reader Voracious and found it to be incredibly hilarious. I actually laughed so hard I cried. As the title already says, I let the Google Translator translate the synopsis of some of the books I’ve read this year. This was originally an idea by Sam from Fictionally Sam.
For this I copy the synopsis from Goodreads and translate it into Latvian  and then back to English. You can see the original synopsis by clicking on the book’s title.

Not such a girl

Slut or saint? Good friend or bad friend? Is it complete or complete?
Life is about choice, and Natalie Sterling is proud of always doing the right thing. She has avoided jerky guys who live in their preparatory school, have always built honor, and are ready to become the first student of the Council Chair in years.
If only other girls were so intelligent and strong. Like a set of fresh packages that want to be a football player. Have her best friend whose crappy judgment almost devastated her life.
But sensible and strong is not easy. Not when Natalie almost highlights. Not when her advice hurts more than it helps. Not when the boy she once fired becomes a boy he can’t stop.
The line between good and bad has become obscure, and crossing could end in a disaster. . . or become the best choice she will ever make.

Starry Eyes

The best friends – the worst enemies, Zorie and Lennon, who have arrived at home since last year, have created art to avoid each other. It doesn’t hurt that their families have a modern Montagues and Capulets version. But when it comes to camping in the south, Zorie and Lennon are in the wild. Only. In total.
Zoria and Lennon have no choice but to try to get their way to safety. But as both go deeper into the solid California countryside, the secrets and the surface of hidden feelings. Soon it is not just a long-term solution for each other’s business but for their growing feelings for each other.

Princess and Fangirl

Imogen Lovelace is an ordinary fangirl for an impossible mission: to save his favorite character, Princess Amara, from being killed from her favorite franchise, Starfield. The problem is that Jessica Stone, an actress who plays Princess Amara, doesn’t want anything more than to leave the intensive phantom test. If this year’s ExcelsiCon is not her last, she will think her career has diminished.
If the mistake of mistaken identity with Imogen and Jess met together, they quickly become enemies. But when Starfield’s continuation leaks out and all the signs point to Jeans, she and the Imogene have to exchange places to find the responsible person. It is easier to say than to do when girls enter each other’s shoes and discover new romantic opportunities as well as another intense fandom. Since these “princesses” competitions to find a script destroyer, they have to keep their own expectations and redefine what it means to live happily.

Wicked King

You have to be strong enough to strike and strike and again strike without being tiring.
The first lesson is to make yourself strong.
After the revelation of the jaw that the oak is a Faerie heir, Jude must keep her younger brother. To do this, she has attracted the evil king to Cardan and made herself a throne. Moving with Faerie’s ever-changing political associations would be difficult enough if Cardan were easy to control. But he does everything in his power to humiliate and diminish him, even if his passion for him remains nothing.
When it becomes clear that someone close to Jude means to hand it over, endangering his life and everything he loves, Judah must disclose a collector and fight against his complex feelings to keep Cardan in control as a mortal in Faer. in the world.

Collapse and Growth

Capital has fallen.
Darkling Rules Ravka from his shadow thrones.
Now the fate of the people is with the broken Sun Summoner, the disgraced tracker and the shattered remnants of the unique magic army.
Deep in the ancient network of tunnels and hollows, the weakened Alina must be brought to the doubtful protection of Apparate and its admirers who worship her as a saint. However, her plans are elsewhere, with hunting for an elusive fire and the hope that the offender will still survive.
Alina will have to build new alliances and try to eliminate old races because she and Mal competitions will find the last Morozova amplifier. But when she starts to unleash the secrets of Darkling, she reveals a past that will change her understanding of their common bond and the power she uses forever. Firebird is one thing between Ravka and destruction, claiming that it could cost Alina the same future she is fighting for.

Bonus (which I translated from German to Latvian to English):

Akasha and Princess Heliopolis. On her 16th birthday she will receive one of the eight magical gifts and will be married to Riaz. But Akasha gets only the emptiness that is fired on the neck. No gifts! No magic! Even worse, the wedding is threatened by the arrogant Dante. To eradicate guilt, her father sends her to an important mission to Earth.
Hailey has organized an exhibition of ancient artifacts. But why does she suddenly understand the sumer? Why can she read the tsuneiform? What is a veil woman who appears everywhere And how could she kiss Nicolas so passionately? She can’t stand new!
