New Releases I’m Most Excited For In 2018 – Part 1 (January-June)

12/01/2018

Hello hello,

my shelf is overflowing, a quarter of the books I own is unread, there are piles on my floor,… but of course that is no reason at all to not buy books. Though this year I won’t buy that many. Only new releases and probably next installments in series. I will try to do this at least. In the last few years I didn’t exactly manage but oh well, one year I hope to finally succeed. Anyways, where was I?
Yes, book buying. As I’m still going to buy new releases, why not tell you the ones I am most anticipating?

Let’s Talk About Love by Claire Kann (23rd January)

31625039

Alice had her whole summer planned. Non-stop all-you-can-eat buffets while marathoning her favorite TV shows (best friends totally included) with the smallest dash of adulting–working at the library to pay her share of the rent. The only thing missing from her perfect plan? Her girlfriend (who ended things when Alice confessed she’s asexual). Alice is done with dating–no thank you, do not pass go, stick a fork in her, done.
But then Alice meets Takumi and she can’t stop thinking about him or the rom com-grade romance feels she did not ask for (uncertainty, butterflies, and swoons, oh my!).
When her blissful summer takes an unexpected turn, and Takumi becomes her knight with a shiny library employee badge (close enough), Alice has to decide if she’s willing to risk their friendship for a love that might not be reciprocated—or understood.

And that’s it! And what about you? What are your most anticipated releases?

    1. I just really like Renée Ahdieh’s writing style. And even though FITM was a bit slow at some points, I enjoyed it immensely.
Despite owning Truthwitch and Windwitch, I haven’t come around to read them yet.. I hope you enjoy book 3! 🙂

  1. I can’t express how excited I am about “Let’s talk about love”. I am so happy to see a book with an asexual protagonist. I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

And “The Brightsiders”! ♥ Jen Wilde! ♥
Although I have to say that I am little afraid that it won’t meet my expectations. After declaring “Queens of Geek” one if the best books I’ve ever read, the bar is set really high for everything that comes after it…

“Tyler Johnson was here” sounds really haunting… I think I will put it on my wish list 🙂

    Thanks for this list!
    Sas

    1. Hi Sas,

Queens of Geek really was THAT good. But what I’ve heard from people who have read the ARC of The Brightsiders, it’s hella good as well!! So I’m very, VEEEERY excited for it! 🙂

tbh this year so many important books are released! I can’t wait for them to be out in the world ♥

      happy reading!
      Kat

      1. I requested it on NetGalley but haven’t heard back from the publisher yet. I don’t have high hopes to get approved for an ARC but I won’t be sad since I would buy it anyway 😉 I am just so curious about it and would love to read it as soon as possible.
